If you go for a 2-year degree in CNC, Mechanical Technician, or other related work, a CSWP or above is very valuable in helping you get jobs.If you want to head right into industry from High School as a Mechanical Technician / Apprentice, it is great, as it shows good aptitude and ability and that you're trainable.It shows you have initiative and knowledge, especially coming out of High School with a CSWP, or dare I say, CSWE (have half a dozen going for it this year).
